Here at Royal Tart we knew we had good taste but it was confirmed this month by InStyle Magazine. In the November 2008 InStyle the Roost etched Champagne glasses we sell with the Groove Dinner Party, New Years Eve Celebration and in the “Things We Love” section were photographed for a Thanksgiving article featuring Katie Joel, cookbook author and wife of Billy Joel. The Champagne glasses look great. Perfect for any holiday gathering: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve or simply as a pretty addition to your entertaining wardrobe. You can check out the image and purchase the glasses in Royal Tart’s “As Seen In” section or with a Royal Tart Celebration.
Katie offers a great Ginger Royale drink recipe, “Top 1 oz ginger-flavored liqueur with Champagne and garnish with white currants.” Check it out on p.335 of the November 2008 InStyle Magazine.
Cheers!

Each celebration is created with value in mind; a party for eight typically retails for no more than a new dress and pair of shoes or $300-$500.

Celebrating in Royal Style Made Easy as Pie
I was just reading the November ‘08 Domino Magazine and the editor’s letter caught my eye. The letter was about “Luxury.” Last year the editor summed up Domino as being about, “the ultimate luxury: more time.” The letter went on to discuss what luxury might mean now, in the past and possibly the future. The editor finished the letter with a series of quotes from Domino staff members defining what luxury meant to them individually. There are many great quotes and it is easy to see that one person’s luxury might not be another’s. But, one of the quotes goes directly to Royal Tart’s purpose.
Stella Bugbee, Design Director said, “Having cupboards filled with pretty china and glass (both fancy and humble) so I can entertain without ever frantically worrying about not having what I need.”
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see where I am going with Domino’s “luxury” discussion. I have defined Royal Tart as adding value or providing value to its customers—the busy host. The value being prepackaged celebrations that save the host time and money which in turn prevents stress. After all having Royal Tart do all the hard work: designing, sourcing, minding the details (like invitations and party favors) and menu planning each party so that all the host has to do is purchase, unpack a box and celebrate is a super value. But if Royal Tart defines luxury as time + pretty parties then perhaps Royal Tart is about luxury not just value. The luxury of time and style. I like that!

I love to celebrate and have been organizing and throwing parties for my family and others for years but often find I am lacking in time or inspiration. At Royal Tart our goal is to provide you with everything you need regardless of your time, skill or inspiration to throw and amazing party. So in the spirit of the season I am sharing the Menu and some recipes from our Autumn Leaves Tea Celebration. Enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea or Thanksgiving brunch with style and ease.
In case you are not familiar with the Royal Tart Celebration, You can go to www.RoyalTart.com and purchase a themed Celebration. It will arrive at your door in a box (sometimes 2) with everything you need to throw a stylish party with ease including invitations; cloth table linens; ceramic dishes; menu & party tips; party favors & some specialty food. Each celebration is created with value in mind; a party for 8 retails for no more than a new dress and shoes or $300-$500. And like a new outfit you get to keep everything and use it again and again. Talk about built in recycling.
Pumpkin Scones with Maple Cream Cheese
Pumpkin Scones
Makes approximately 12 small scones
2 Cups all purpose flour
1/3 Cup dark brown sugar (I like the molasses flavor but you can use light if you prefer)
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
5 Tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
1 Cup pumpkin puree (you can either make your own or use canned)
2/3 Cup heavy whipping cream
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
In a bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt.
Cut in cold butter with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly (or a food processor if you prefer–don’t over mix)
Stir in pumpkin and cream until just combined
Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead dough a few times. Roll dough into a 1/2″ thick circle. Cut into Triangles or circles as you prefer. Place scones on a lightly oiled (or sprayed) pan and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with Maple Cream (recipe below)
Maple Cream Spread
Makes about 1 1/2 cups
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened
2 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup (add more or less to your taste)
Cream together cream cheese and butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy. Gradually add maple syrup beat until well combined.
Serve the Maple Cream on the side with your fresh Pumpkin Scones.
Enjoy!
